Over the shortest trip he'd ever raced, Elusive Ridge gained the fifth success of a twenty eight race career when taking the Group Discounts at Dundalk Stadium Apprentice Handicap.
In this seven furlong contest, Joseph O'Brien (got a 1 day careless riding ban for moving over before the marker poles) soon had Elusive Ridge prominent from his draw in stall ten. He got to the head of affairs in the straight and kept on well to beat Tarrsille (well-backed this morning but a pretty easy to back 11/4 favourite on track) by a length.
Harry Rogers trains the now three time course winner for the Nap Racing Syndicate and the local handler said: "He did it well and he got a good ride.
"He's been a good old servant and the fast sand suits. He'll be back here next week for a mile and a quarter or a mile race.
"I think he'd even get a mile and a half but a mile and a quarter is his favourite trip." (GC & EM)
