62/1 Dundalk brace for Whelan After his win on Eagle Valley earlier, Ronan Whelan doubled-up in the concluding Fund Raising Made Easy At Dundalk Handicap, aboard Tony Mullins' 20/1 chance Saga Bolton. Carried looked very likely to supply Leigh Roche with a brace when striking for home inside the final quarter mile but anyone thinking that way wasn't bargaining for the whirlwind finish of Saga Bolton. This was a commendable effort on the part of Saga Bolton, a three-year-old handicap debutant and he got up to prevail by a neck. "He's improving. Kevin (Manning) said after he won in Fairyhouse that he wants to be dropped in late," said Mullins. "I didn't think he'd win tonight but he rode him to come late and he did it. It's not a bad job for his first run in a handicap. "He has schooled over hurdles. He needs decent ground but we might give him a run for experience and see what happens." (GC & EM)
