There was a second Willie Mullins victor at Galway, and a fourth on the day for Closutton, with Suinda proving a popular well-backed winning favourite in the Glenman Corporation Handicap Hurdle under Ruby Walsh.
Walsh had to settle for third half-an-hour earlier on Karl Der Grosse as stable companion Dorrells Pierji stole the limelight in the rated novice hurdle under Denis O'Regan.

Here the lightly-weighted Suinda (5/2 from 100/30 on track and bigger earlier) convincingly defeated Odit by two lengths.
"She had a nice weight on her back and I had a good position on her the whole way and she jumped reasonably well. The step up in trip definitely helped her, she had plenty of experience and she was very professional," said Walsh.
"Thankfully she hadn't enough weight for Aubrey (McMahon, regular rider) at 10st4lbs as he couldn't claim 7lbs but I'm sure with a penalty he'll be back on her the next day."
