339/1 Gowran double for McCreery Much like Akira in the second, a debut effort at this course ten days ago, brought Musical Peace forward plenty. She caused a 33/1 surprise in the last, the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Fillies Maiden to bring up a 339/1 double for Willie McCreery at Gowran. McCreery, earlier on the mark with Kanes Pass (Shane Kelly) employed Billy Lee for the ride on Musical Peace and she stayed on best to beat Madam Mo by head. The well-backed favourite, Daluka (2s into 6/4) had to 'make do' with third place. Meanwhile Flowing Air (at least 16s this morning into 11/2) was beaten when she got checked for room in the straight. Fran Berry's mount came home in fifth place. McCreery said: "That was a grand day. She had a nice draw (in two) and I told Billy to be positive on her. "I thought she'd come on a lot from her run here the first day. "She's from a very good family and I'm delighted for the Malone's (owner John Malone). "She was very honest there. When the other one (Madam Mo) went by her she fought back. I don't know where we'll go next." Anyone suffering with a bout of déjà vu following this win may be recalling McCreery's win over the course and distance in August with another Oratorio filly, the 25/1 shot, Shifting. The same yard won another maiden, at Dundalk last month, with first-timer Cloud Monkey, also at a 'pony.' (DM & EM)
