Coilogshakeysirgin under Ben Curtis stunned favourite backers at Roscommon as the 33/1 shot beat the 8/11 favourite Exact by a length in the Oran Maiden.
The Sabrina Harty trained 5yo son of Expelled has two bumper runs to his name finishing well beaten at both Galway and Tramore.
Having his first start under flat rules this afternoon he stayed on best up the straight to challenge both Exact and stablemate On A Jetplane
He hit the front with 100 yards left to race and kept on from there to score by a length from Exact and Joseph O’Brien in second while On A Jetplane was a neck back in third at 9/1 under Gary Carroll.
Winning trainer Sabrina Harty said afterwards: "He is a horse who has loads of speed but Jamie Codd was riding him in bumpers and said that he just wasn’t staying.
"There are so few 4yo and upwards maidens that we decided to run three in this today.
"He is owned and bred by Chris Byrne and Chris broke a number of bones (broke his collar bone & cracked his ankle) when he fell from him while doing a piece of work at home one day.
"He is very quirky at home and killed a calf! We all call him the calf killer now. He is massive and he is probably still growing. He was a July foal."
