Patrick Mullins, narrowly denied in the opening division of the Jackie Tyrrell & Glanbia (Pro/Am) Flat Race, came out the right side of a tight finish in the second split when getting his father, Willie's Indevan (8/13) up for a head success at Gowran.
This was rounding off another good session for the local champion trainer. Mullins had earlier sent out the Gigginstown House Stud pair, Midnight Oil and Toostrong to score.
If favourite backers had a sweat with Ebazziyr half-an-hour earlier, again they had anxiety to deal with as Mullins wound up Indevan to hit top gear from furlong and a half out.
Inside the last, the successful son of Indesatchel, a winning 'pointer' when with Tom Keating, quickened up well to catch It's High Time close home.
Mullins senior said: "He timed it better this time as he was a little bit unlucky last time (narrowly beaten at this course).
"He's probably a slowly maturing sort and he seems to prefer this ground.
"The slower pace did him no harm and for a point-to-pointer he has a nice turn of foot.
"He may go jumping now – we'll have to have a think about it.
"I'm happy with the two earlier winners too (Midnight Oil and Toostrong). They are good ground horses and they'll be kept on the go." (TW & EM)
