20/1 Sligo brace for O'Connell Eddie O'Connell, who recorded a double here in early May, repeated the feat when he got Kingsmoss, trained by his boss, James Lambe, home by two and a half lengths in the Martinstown Opportunity Maiden Hurdle at Sligo. The Kildare 5Ib claimer had earlier been successful aboard City Hustler for Sean Thornton. Here O'Connell got Kingsmoss, equipped with cheek-pieces for the first time, into contention travelling well, he led entering the straight and pulled out plenty on the run-in to account for Bavard Court. Lambe commented: "His future lies over fences. He is unlucky not to have won as he has run some good races in defeat recently. He'll get a break as he has done enough for a five-year-old. He'll come back for a novice hurdle in the spring before going chasing." Kingsmoss won a point-to-point at Taylorstown back in April 2009. Meanwhile the big gamble of this two and a half miler, Rhum And Coke, the 15/8 favourite, was in trouble from a fair way out and he eventually had to content himself with sixth place.
