A half-brother to opening race winner on the card, Sunchart Share The Honour made it two winners from two rides for Philip Enright at Tipperary in the Fitzgerald’s Woodlands Hotel Adare Handicap Hurdle.
Earlier on the mark aboard John Joe Walsh’s Davids Charm in the Grade Three Horse And Jockey Hotel Hurdle, Enright here teamed up with Tony Martin for lightly-weighted Share The Honour.
Pre-race this was all about strong 6/5 favourite Jake Peter but he couldn’t get the sweet-travelling Share The Honour off the bridle.
Once asked to go and win his race from the back of the last, the now three-time winner put two and a half lengths between himself and Jake Peter.
"He is a very reliable little horse and won in Galway last year and has been unlucky. He has run consistent and well and it's lovely to get a win with him," said Martin.
"He has been mixing it between hurdles and flat and we could now go back to the flat but we'll get him home and see how he is in a week. There might be a few flat races left before he goes back hurdling."
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Song Of Namibia trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a couple of bad mistakes and stopped quickly.
The Stewards fined J.J.Lambe, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Kasakh Noir (FR), in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Kasakh Noir (FR) in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.
