After his success last evening at Tramore with Bright Flame, Enniscorthy trainer Willie Martin struck again when Time Stands Still triumphed in the Cork Handicap.
With fellow Wexford man Willie Byrne in the plate, Time Stands Still won for the third time at Cork, beating Improving by two and three parts of a length.
The Dandy Man mare chased the leaders and she was third at the halfway stage.
She improved to lead two furlongs out and soon ridden she kept on strongly in the final furlong to prevail.
Mick Martin, son and assistant trainer, said “She had been hard to win with this year and we couldn’t get her fit. She’s an older mare now but loves it here.
“She likes a cut in the ground and hopefully she can win another one of two. Willie gave her a lovely ride today and I’m delighted for him.”
