As a half-sister to a ten time winner Sapphire Lady has a bit to live up to. The start she made though could hardly have been any better as she completed a double for the Willie Mullins yard in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares INH Flat Race at Ballinrobe. Dandy Mag made all for Closutton in race two under Ruby Walsh, and it was a case of more of the same here. She disputed early with The Princetonian but Patrick Mullins soon had the Tony Butler owned and bred Sapphire Lady (well-backed 9/10 favourite) dictating matters.
Ridden over a furlong out the successful Beneficial mare eventually came home with five and a half lengths to spare over her aforementioned rival.
"She is a great replacement for Westerner Lady, she is a half-sister. She won how she liked, I thought she had a lot more in the tank," reported the winning rider.
"She probably wouldn't want the ground any quicker, I think she'd go on slower ground as well. They will have a lot of fun with her."
Mr D.G. Lavery, rider of Dynamic Allen (FR) trained by B. R. Hamilton, reported to the Clerk of Scales that the ground was too quick for his mount.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Dynamic Allen (FR), trained by B. R. Hamilton, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be xxxxxxx. Samples were taken for analysis.
