2 for McGuinness at Tipp at odds of 39/1 There was a quick double for the Ado McGuinness yard at Tipperary this evening when the Thomas Sherry-ridden Aussie Valentine took the 4-runner @TipperaryRaces On Twitter Rated Race. Half-an-hour on from stable companion Oor Jock's success under Colin Keane, here 4/1 hope Aussie Valentine got it done by a length and a half from Masucci. Stable representative Stephen Thorne said: "I purchased this horse last October at the Horses In Training Sale for 12,000 (Guineas), and I'm delighted for Gary Devlin and Joe McCrory as he was bought as a replacement for Bubbly Bellini. He's after winning about 40,000 for us this year. "Thomas Sherry gave this horse a peach of a ride the last day at Leopardstown. He kept it simple and did the same again tonight. That's his first winner since his claim went down to 7lb. He joined us in February and is a very good kid, and a very hard worker. He does all the work with this horse and rides him out at home. I really hope he gets going as he's one for the future. "We have him entered in the Nasrullah Handicap at Leopardstown (on July 12) which closed yesterday. I think the older horses are superior to the three year olds this time of the year, and hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on him. "I'm quite surprised he's handling that ground so well but I think it's down to getting the running style right. In the Lincoln we probably didn't make enough use of him, and we have got the running style right. Obviously the last two races were rated races and he's a class horse in those races." (AM & EM)
