An astounding 13,218/1 four-timer was completed by Shane Foley in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden at Naas aboard Masteroffoxhounds (13/2 into 9/2).
This was a third victory of the afternoon for Masteroffoxhounds' trainer, and Foley’s boss, Jessica Harrington.
Owner Zhang Yuesheng had set the ball rolling for Foley and Harrington earlier, with Lucky Vega and his green and white silks were also at the number one spot through Masteroffoxhounds.
He’d purchased this fellow out of Ballydoyle after two starts at two.
Mrs Harrington’s other winner was Punita Arora whilst Foley chipped in with a success for Leanne Breen on Parkers Hill as well.
The final winner on the card chased the leaders and he was third at the halfway stage.
He then travelled well into second a furlong and a half out.
Ridden over a furlong out, the successful son of War Front stayed on to challenge inside the final furlong, drifting slightly left under pressure.
He led in the final fifty yards to beat Mr Wendell by a length.
“This horse was meant to go to China but because of coronavirus couldn’t go and we have reaped the benefit of it,” explained Mrs Harrington’s daughter Kate.
“He’s a nice horse and we haven’t had him that long as he was in quarantine and Conor Hoban did a bit of pre-training with him. He’s been with us about six weeks and fair play to Conor.
“It’s been a great day and hopefully we can keep it going. We thought we had a nice group of horses and it’s really exciting.”
