Colin Keane followers were rewarded with a 16/1 winner as Stormy Jenn opened her account in the first division of the Holden Plant Rentals Handicap.
The champion jockey tracked the leaders on the inner and took full advantage when a sizeable gap presented itself early in the straight.
Keane sent the daughter of Gale Force Ten to the front over two furlongs out and from that point Plunkett (8/1) was the only danger. The latter could find no more close home and was two and a half lengths adrift at the line, with the front two well clear of the remainder.
Placed on her first outing of the season in June, the winner was getting off the mark on her eighth start.
Winning owner/trainer Peter Cluskey said: “We had a good man on board - I'm not saying Robert (Whearty, previous jockey) wasn't alright on her but she is a little bit iffy and wise, and can be a little stubborn.
"She ran very well on her first run back at Cork (third) this year and we were a little disappointed after. We had a job trying to tack her up today and I said if she doesn't do it today, she'll never do it.
"She went through the sales ring unsold and we offered the minimum bid (E1,000) and it was accepted and we took our time with her. She should go in again and he (Keane) said she could go back to a mile or could also go up in trip a little further."
