Leaving Belisarius defeat at a price of 4/9 aside, it's been a day of days for Joseph O'Brien at Navan and the record-breaking jockey brought up a treble at odds of over 112/1 when Dysios took the first split of the Meath Handicap for owner Kieron Gammell and trainer Denis Cullen.
Adding to his earlier gains on Sardinia and Marvellous O'Brien got there travelling strongly on the well-backed 13/2 favourite, Dysios, and the Invincible Spirit gelding stayed on well inside the final furlong to see off Manhattan Swing by three parts of a length.
Cullen remarked: "I thought he'd need the run today (his first in almost a year) but he broke well, travelled well though in the end Joseph felt that he got there a bit sooner than he wanted.
"We've always thought a lot of him – he's a nice horse with a big future.
"We decided to give him a good long break and hopefully he can go now for some graded races over hurdles as well as running on the flat.
"The horses are in great nick at the moment and long may it continue." (AM & EM)
