Fantasy Navigator (GB), trained by Michael Appleby, was late in the Parade Ring due to Lewis Edmunds being late weighing out after the previous race, which was nearly 4 minutes late off.

Fantasy Navigator (GB) unseated Lewis Edmunds behind the stalls and was loose for a short period.

After being caught, the colt was checked by the veterinary surgeon and the rider was checked by the doctor, and both were deemed fit to race.

Leaving the stalls, Poetikel Piece (GB), placed sixth, jumped right-handed causing Mother Shipton (GB), placed fifth, to be crowded for room and lose its early position, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.

Approximately 2½ furlongs out, Sharesa (IRE), placed third, drifted slightly right-handed at the same time as Code Purple (GB), unplaced, hung badly left-handed, resulting in the rider of Code Purple (GB) having to check his mount off the heels of Sharesa (IRE).

After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Sharesa (IRE).

Following the race, Jack Mitchell, the rider of Al Barez (GB), placed second, and Harrison Shaw, the rider of Code Purple (GB), unplaced, both reported that their mounts ran green.
