It's great for Robbie. He rode around thirty point-to-point winners but he was out of the game for a while. He's with me the last two years and is a great worker. Himself and two girls and myself ride eight or nine lots a day. He gave him a brilliant ride, he never asked him and he kept it economical. It's great for Rose and John Devitt who are great supporters of ours. We had four horses here that we thought would make the frame and they did, and we nearly had a double. We were done by a head on the line earlier (with Ladiam). They're in great form and that's all down to the hard work at home. We've 25 horses in and we're working very hard to make progress. The Stewards interviewed R.P. Geoghegan, rider of Not So Simple, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of Reg 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that R.P Geoghegan was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for 7 racedays

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Bang On Target trained by Mrs Lorna Fowler, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle todays ground

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Don't Tell Allen, trained by John Queally, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (116 = 12st)
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
