The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately three furlongs from the finish involving Lakota Blue (FR), ridden by Sam Ewing, and Janes Harbour, ridden by M.P. Walsh where it appeared these horses came close together on the inside. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Sam Ewing stated that he was on the inside all the way. His horse jumped left at the third last and he returned to the running rail where contact occurred

M.P. Walsh stated that he jumped the hurdle better and went for the gap on the inner but he didn't have the horse to go through it. Once he had committed he had to keep going and contact was made. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found M.P. Walsh in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Billie Frechette, trained by Noel Meade, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped right at the first.
