Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that A. O'Shea was in breach of R10(4) by failing to give his mount time to respond to the whip and consequently severely cautioned him having taken his previous good record into consideration. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, I. Hamilton, that Adrian O'Shea, rider of Dudes And Diamonds (GB), had weighed in 1.9lbs above the required weight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he drank water after weighing out as he was dehydrated. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that A. O'Shea was in breach of Rule 231 and suspended him for 1 raceday.
