All bar one of DONARD LODGE's five career starts have been at this venue, and she appreciated a drop back in distance to open her account in what appeared a modest race even allowing for the low rating band (45-65). She overcame a slow start to challenge in the straight, and got on top in the final furlong to justify support in the ring (5's to 7/2).

YODOLLAH belied his position as the complete outsider of the field, bowling along in front on his handicap debut and only giving best to the winner inside the final furlong. He'd shown some pace in a couple of previous outings and, while his stable continues in fine form, may land a modest sprint handicap. His trainer reported that this improved run was due to the geldings improved mental attitude combined with a more forceful ride.

FIVE SATINS stayed on from behind in the straight, just losing out in the battle for second place. The remainder were five lengths and more behind with MODERN MYTH giving his rider little assistance. He ran quite free in first time blinkers, and hung badly right when asked for an effort on the heels of the leader early in the straight.
