The Raceday privilege request in relation to Economic Crisis (IRE), trained by Alan Berry, was not submitted.

Berry was warned as to his responsibility to ensure that all Raceday privilege requests are submitted by 1pm on the day before racing.

Approximately 1 furlong after the start, PRIMO’S COMET, placed third, shifted left taking Afandem (IRE), placed eighth, off its intended line which in turn caused Melody King (IRE), placed fourth, to be short of room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of PRIMO’S COMET.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately half a furlong out involving PRIMO’S COMET, placed third, ridden by David Nolan and Economic Crisis (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by James Sullivan.

Nolan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched right when insufficiently clear causing Economic Crisis (IRE) to be checked.

The performance of Refuge (GB), which started favourite and finished seventh, was considered.

Michael and David Easterby’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Refuge (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
