The experience helped her and I'd be scared of the second next time. I bought her on the recommendation of Dave Kenna (Hayes' agent) and she arrived in typical of one of (Tracey) Collins', looking a millions dollars. I thought she'd win the last day but she missed the break. She needs another furlong and is crying out for it. It wasn't a bad maiden the last day but she just jumped a bit slow and the plan had been to ride her positively. There isn't much here for her now; there are no stakes races and she'll probably end up too high for a nursery. I think she'll be a nice sprinter next year as she goes on any ground but she's still quite weak. She's a full-sister to Chiclet, who won for Tracey last month. P J Prendergast, trainer

The Stewards interviewed C.D. Hayes, rider of Daisy Bell, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g), in that he used the whip with the arm above shoulder height and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day. F. Lynch, rider of Knoxville Bullet, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran green in the closing stages.
