Tai Sing Yeh gained reward for some consistent efforts on the polytrack this winter when taking the Join Us On Instagram @dundalk_stadium Handicap.
The Johnny Levins-trained gelding, recording a fifth career win and first at this venue, challenged the front-running Pillar over a furlong out and got on top inside the final 100 yards.
Donagh O’Connor’s mount, well supported from 9/2 into 3/1 close to the off, had half-a-length to spare over that rival at the line with Samrogue finishing well on the outer to be just a head further back in third.
O'Connor said, “He deserved that as he's been banging on the door and has been very consistent. These types of horses are hard to keep consistent but Johnny has done a good job in doing that and he looks a million dollars.
“The race didn't really work out too well as I was getting the wind blown in his face the whole way around as I was out wide. He toughed it out in the end.
“He's a horse whose attitude, when we first got him, wasn't very good and it's changed over the years. He's been great fun for the owners and I'm delighted to get his head in front again.”
