Stoichkhov makes it two

Successful here last March, Stoichkhov took his score to two from thirty two when landing the Dundalk Stadium – Light Up Your Night Handicap under Ray Dawson.

Trained by Mickey Cleary for Eamon Purcell, the six-year-old Ivan Denisovich gelding was backed from 16/1 into 10/1 and he got the better of a duel with the front-running Captains Dilemma by a neck.

Rider of the runner-up Gary Phillips was quick to congratulate Dawson once they passed the line.

Dawson explained: "Me and Gary are very good friends. He was just happy for me." (MG & EM)
