Fortune Street gained a second career win today, both at Wexford, as Paul Nolan's gelding landed the M & T Plant Hire Maiden Hurdle in the colours of the trainer's sponsor financial solutions company SoftCo.
Eight year old Fortune Street's previous success was in October 2019 and today, under Richie Deegan, beat Lucky Tenner by a length and a half.
Paul Nolan's brother and assistant James Nolan later stated “he won his bumper here and we had kept him back from a few races recently in the hope that this might be a weaker maiden but it wasn’t a bad race.
“He deserved that and likes it here. I thought Richie was excellent on him, kept things very simple and I thought that was his best jumping performance.
“Richie is a good hard-working lad and rides work or schools for us whenever we want him. He’s come back from a horrible leg injury and it’s great to see him doing well.
“He said he loved that ground. We were always afraid to run him on it as he’s a heavy topped horse. I’d say he’ll stay on the go now.
“They have done a brilliant job here with the ground and it’s lovely, safe jumping ground.
“Jim Coffey and SoftCo are massive supporters of the yard and to have winners for them is vital.”
