Profound Beauty takes last at Leopardstown
Profound Beauty recorded her third win in the Challenge Stakes Listed Race when running out a comfortable five and a half length win under Pat Smullen.
Dermot Weld’s charge travelled well throughout and moved through to take up the lead over a furlong out.
The pair were soon clear and kept on well for an easy success over Drumfire and Johnny Murtagh.
Winning trainer Weld said afterwards: “She is a joy to train she is the best mare I’ve ever trained.”
“It’s her third year to win the challenge. We’ll have to review now with Eva Marie Haefner and Stan Cosgrave.”
“The Yorkshire Oakes has to be a definite possibility now, we’ll enter her in the Melbourne Cup and see what kind of a weight she gets.”
“The Irish St Leger is another possibility. She likes a little ease in the ground.”
