Nolan Doubles Up in all Wexford Win
Honorary Title with two promising efforts to his name, made it third time lucky in the Lacken Hill Flat Race to complete a double for Paul Nolan who had earlier got on the score-sheet courtesy of Declan's Lad
Fellow Wexford man, M J Doran was in the plate, appropriately enough in the purple and gold silks of winning breeder/owner, Jim Mernagh.
However Doran had some anxious moments in the straight when his mount hung to the left and he had to administer strong reminders to get the chestnut back to work. He accomplished this to cross the line two lengths to the good from Fairymount Lord
Nolan said: "I'm delighted with that. Jim is a great friend and has always been a great supporter of the yard. He is in Ffos Las because there was a memorial race for Keith Lewis. I had to give him a commentary over the phone. This fellow is from Ashkalani's first National Hunt crop. He hurdles well at home and he'll go at that game now, hopefully on good ground."
