The Ado McGuinness trained Military Hill gained a third career success, all in Claimers, when landing the opening Ballinrobe Racecourse Claiming Race at Ballinrobe today, under jockey Shane Foley.
The five year old son of Majestic Missile was making it three wins from four in career Claimers, and having met defeat in a Gowran Claimer in May, was today followed up last month's course and distance success under Foley.
Afterwards McGuinness stated “it's great for Mr Gallagher, he's a great patron of mine and he keeps a lot of horses with me and it's great for him to have another winner here.
“He was struggling to win handicaps and this is why we've gone to this type of company. He seems to like it and he did that easier tonight — he made hard work of it last time.
"That's the type of horse he is though - he can run in two different ways but hopefully I can keep him because he'll hold his own in those type of races."
McGuinness did later get to keep Military Hill, which was the subject of a friendly claim along with runner-up Highway To Heaven
