McBratney saddles one-two in bumper
Colin McBratney saddled a one-two in the bumper when Sole Witness experience won the day from stable-mate Fireitfromye
The pair had it between them from two furlongs out but Sole Witness proved strongest in the final furlong to go on for a four-length success under Mark O'Hare.
"They are two lovely horses. The winner Sole Witness is a proper horse," said McBratney.
"He goes on better ground and was second in a bumper on better. He was also fourth over hurdles and was behind Montan then, who won the first today.
"He will have a rest now and go for a novice hurdle at Perth in early May.
"The other horse is gorgeous but may be a horse that needs a bit of time. He's young and got a bit tired in the finish.
"We'll try and win a bumper with him in six or eight weeks time."
Jamie Codd picked up a five-day ban for easing up on Andlau close home and losing third place.
