After winning the first on Riyazan, Pat Smullen quickly doubled-up aboard Kailee in the Curragh 'Where Champions Are Made' Fillies Maiden.
The Bill Farrell trained daughter of Bated Breath was fourth and second on her last two starts, and she went off at 3/1 this afternoon in the colours of owner Timothy Rooney.
Prominent on the outer, she was second halfway and was ridden to challenge from over a furlong out.
She soon gained a narrow lead, and maintained that advantage in the closing stages, going on to score by a head. Bay Of Skaill (3/1) kept on well to take second under Gary Carroll for Joe Murphy, while the 9/4 favourite (from 7/2 on-course) Covetous was half a length away in third for Billy Lee and Willie McCreery.
Farrell said afterwards: "We were trying to get a maiden win for her and she deserved it. Pat said she would be better on easier ground.
"She is still a bit weak and we will take our time with her. We will run her again in the autumn, and in time she could come back in trip.
"She may go to America (owner from USA) but hopefully she'll stay with us and she could be a nice filly next year."
