Jettymarc Defies Top-Weight
Pat Shanahan rode a very confident race on Jettymarc in the Tara Hill Handicap, and the veteran jockey's confidence in his mount was fully justified, as the Indian Danehill colt showed an excellent attitude up the straight, pulling out plenty for pressure to beat outsider, Quitit by two lengths at Wexford.
The top-weight was following up a Sligo success from just over three weeks back, an evening when his trainer, Tracey Collins saddled an across the card treble. She was in Down Royal this evening but her sister Sheena was in attendance and she said: "They went a fierce gallop and he is a nice staying horse. He is still big and raw and he'll be even better with another year under his belt. He'll jump a hurdle in time."
The Conyngham Lodge handler was most unfortunate not to register a quick across the card double with Lily Lavender, fast finishing runner-up in the 5.15 at Down Royal. (EM)
