Jakros dominates the bumper
Noel Meade and Nina Carberry continued their successful partnership at Downpatrick when Jakros cantered to a facile victory in the bumper by 17 lengths.
Jakros was sent off 5/4 favourite on the back of a runner-up finish in a 20-runner bumper at Tipperary. Three Monkeys was a long way back in second for Willie Mullins with Smalib Monterg four lengths further back in third.
Meade is hopeful that his five-year-old gelding goes on to better things. He said: "I'll send him jumping now. Hopefully he is a nice horse that will win races."
