Inch Rise had a facile hack round Cork when landing the three mile maiden hurdle by 20 lengths.
When Gran Cavallo suffered a fatal fall at the fourth last, Justforjames and Inch Rise looked to have the prize between them.
They were locked together before three out but Inch Rise eased away from his rival before the second last.
He increased the advantage under Mark Walsh before being eased on the run-in. He was returned at 7/2. Goodnightirene kept on at the one pace for second at 66/1 with Justforjames (11/4) weakening to third.
"He always promised a lot but had leg trouble and also ran up against some good horses - there always seemed to be one to beat him," handler Liam Burke said.
"Robbie (Power) rode him at Thurles and said the further he runs the better he is.
"I'll run him again if the ground stays soft but otherwise he'll go chasing next season - I think there's a good chase to be won with him."
