Magnetic Force was the surprise 16/1 winner of the two mile handicap in Wexford.

Robbie Hennessy’s seven-year-old came through to lead over three furlongs out and quickly burst a few lengths clear. That lead he poached stood him in good stead as Little Stampy looked to be a big threat in the home straight.

Despite cutting into the lead, Little Stampy never got on terms with the winner who kept finding more for Seamie Heffernan who brought up a double. Little Stampy was a length and three quarters adrift in second at 11/2, backed in from 13/2 at the track.

The front two had the race to themselves as House Limit was eight and a half lengths off the runner-up at 10/1.

Robbie Hennessy said: “It is great for the syndicate. They are from all over, but they all work in St Vincents Hospital in Fairview. We have been persevering with him, this year has been a bit frustrating as he is a bit of a boyo. I said to Seamie to ride him like you think he is getting the better of you and he said to me going out that he loves riding horses like this and he was fairly right!

"He is just getting old and wise but in fairness Seamie gave him a great ride. He has won on the flat for us and over hurdles while he has also been placed over fences. He is versatile and he is a real syndicate horse. There is a two mile handicap at Dundalk next week and he might go for that or he could go back over hurdles at Navan over two miles as well."
