Chris Hayes, narrowly denied in the opener on Majestic Timeline gained compensation in the following www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden, as Have A Great Day shrugged aside a 413 day break to convincingly land the spoils.
As was the case with Majestic Timeline, Hayes was always to the fore again, this time on the Andy Oliver-handled victor.
In this case Have A Great Day (15/8 favourite) was ridden clear two furlongs out and he stayed on strongly in the final furlong to easily beat Cutting Corners by six lengths.
"He showed promise as a two-year-old. He had a couple of setbacks last year that derailed his three-year-old career," said Oliver.
"He's fairly straight-forward but credit really goes to my head-lad, Roger Bradley, who does all the work on him at home.
"He likes this surface. He was quite a small two-year-old but he's done well and he has quite a bit of power now.
"He's a nice horse for the future." (AM & EM)
