Gimli's Rock shows his quality
Gimli's Rock delighted owner Geoffrey Ruddock with his victory in the one mile four furlong handicap at Naas. The four-year-old Rock Of Gibraltar gelding, trained by Jessica Harrington, won by two and a half lengths to scoop the 26,000 euro first prize for his Belfast-based owner.
Ruddock, who suffered serious traffic problems going to Naas from Belfast, said: "Gimli's Rock is very consistent. This is the biggest prize I have won."
"All of my horses are called Gimli's except for Somethingdifferent in the last at Naas who I fancy to win too."
In a blanket finish for the places, Final Flashback edged out Table Mountain and Zaralabad
