Coto sprang a 33/1 surprise as she took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF 2yo Fillies Maiden, scoring under Colin Keane for Fethard based trainer Matty Tynan.

The daughter of Fast Company finished sixth on her debut at the Curragh in March, and fourth on her next start at Dundalk earlier this month.

Drawn in stall six, the victorious bay broke quickly from the stalls, and she soon led.

She was still on the bridle at the two furlong pole, before she was ridden along with a furlong left to race, and she kept on well from there to score by half a length.

Newcomer Timbuktu was sent off the 7/4 favourite for Aidan and Joseph O’Brien, but she had to settle for second, coming with her challenge when it was too late, while Icy Lady (6/1 to 4/1 on-course) completed the placings three parts of a length back in third under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger.

Tynan, who done so well with Maontri at Dundalk over the winter, said afterwards: “I was disappointed the last night at Dundalk, I thought she was better than that.

"It is unbelievable for a small trainer to come here and win a maiden, and I had a few quid on her at 66/1.

"It was hard to know how good she was as I don’t have any two-year-olds to work with her."

The winner was purchased by Tynan last year for €8,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearlings sale.
