Half-an-hour on from his win in the maiden with Hit It A Bomb (Ryan Moore) Aidan O'Brien doubled his score in the C.L. & M.F.Weld Park Stakes (Fillies Group 3) as Coolmore (Joseph O'Brien) shed her maiden tag at the third time of asking.
Equipped with first-time cheek-pieces, the chestnut daughter of Galileo powered home in the final furlong, after being slightly hampered two furlongs out, to gain the day by half a length and a short head over Anamba and Last Waltz
Ryan Moore, was on Coolmore's stable companion, How High The Moon here, but she could manage no better than sixth.
"I'm delighted with that. I thought she would win in Leopardstown but it was on the inside track and she was a bit green and the ground was a bit dead," said Aidan O'Brien.
"I always thought she wanted to go a mile, and she ran today to get more experience. She is crying out to go a mile this year. They went a good gallop, and she came home well.
"I was disappointed with How High The Moon. The last day I thought a mile was stretching her a bit. She is still a bit babyish and is a big filly that will make a nice horse next year."
Betfair Sportsbook and Paddy Power 14/1 (from 20/1), Boylesports introduced 20/1, Ladbrokes 16/1 - Coolmore for the 1,000 Guineas.
For the Oaks about Coolmore: Betfair Sportsbook 12/1 (from 25/1), Paddy Power 14/1 (from 20/1), 16/1 Ladbrokes, 20/1 (from 25/1) Boylesports.
R.P. Cleary, rider of Mrs King trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered when leaving the stalls.
