Cape Of Approval made it three on the bounce when running out a well-backed winner of the Gain Elite 10 Handicap at the Curragh under Wayne Lordan.
Supported from 11/2 into 4/1, the progressive three-year-old was split a little across the track from First In Command but he was a neck up at the finish.
Fozzy Stack, representing his father, winning trainer Tommy, said of the Mrs Maureen Haughey-owned victor: "He did it well and he's improving.
"He got a bit of a culture shock in the first half of the race. He was a long way back and it's different not running against his own age group.
"We'll leave it at that, he's a big horse and we'll give him time to mature.
"He's had a busy campaign. When he first started racing he was very, very stupid. He hadn't a clue but when he was beaten in a maiden here over six furlongs the penny started to drop.
"He wasn't broken until last July or August so he's basically a two-year-old and he is learning on the job." (GC & EM)
