Bella Brazil won her second race in five starts since joining Jessica Harrington, with a last gasp win in the Play Golf At Gowran Park Handicap.
Red-hot duo Mrs Harrington and Shane Foley were at it again with this winner, numbers six and seven respectively for the trainer and rider since action resumed at Naas on Monday.
Former BHB Chairman and well-known owner Peter Savill switched Bella Brazil to Commonstown last year, and the move has paid dividends with the daughter of Clodovil. Feminista was game from the front but eventually had to give way to Bella Brazil. The same as the winning margin it was another head back to At War in third.
Fourth home was Waterville Lady (Tom Madden), and she’s housed at the Harrington yard also.
"She parks a bit in front so I was trying to delay my challenge as long as I could; it is actually hard to make up ground around here today but she got her head in front at the right time,” explained Foley.
"It was very heavy ground the last day; I know she is by Clodovil but she skips away on our gallop at home and it was worth a try (on testing ground).
"It's nice to get her head back in front, it was her first win in Ireland and her first win for us on grass."
C.D. Maxwell, rider of Point Reyes trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never came down the hill.
S. Foley, rider of Bella Brazil trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right for the final furlong and a half.
