Ballinrobe double for Fahy and Townend
Backtothekingsnest was the subject of good support (6/1 to 3/1) in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe and duly collected.
Paul Townend sent his mount to the lead at the last and she stayed on well to score by two-and-a-half lengths.
"We were trying hard to get it right," said winning trainer Pat Fahy.
"Ruby rode her in the North and said he could never give her a break as she was flat out all the time.
"Then she was brought down and last time she just arrived too early. Today with all that knowledge we got it right and also got a bit of luck." No Stopping Sarah (8/1 to 13/2) completed a double for Fahy and Townend when claiming the concluding contest.
The mare, also carrying the colours of Galway owner James Coen, was produced to lead turning for home and kept on well to score by two-and-a-half lengths.
"After winning first time at Punchestown as she liked we were a bit disappointed with the way things worked out. But she has had a few good runs recently," said Fahy.
"We'll give both the horse three weeks and see. I won't keep them for Galway if they are in good form and there are races for them."
