Annalecka was a good winner of the mares' point-to-point bumper at Tipperary in the hands of John Barry.

This was the Fame And Glory mare's track debut for Mark Fahey having won a point-to-point for Colin Bowe.

She took aim at Dixies Girl in the final quarter of a mile and soon led. Barry exerted his arms and the response was healthy as she increased the gap on the field by the furlong pole.

The race was in the bag in the closing stages, but Pitwood Road stayed on nicely in second to cut into the gap.

The winner certainly didn't go unbacked as she was returned at 14/1 from 20s. The runner-up was an 11/1 shot and was eight lengths clear of the well-punted 13/8 favourite Spindleberry

Fahey said: "It was a good performance and I'm a bit surprised as we haven't done a whole lot with her at home. Her work wouldn't inspire you that she'd do that today, but obviously comes alive when you need her so is one to look forward to.

"The owners (Mayo man and owner Pat Moran) had her in point-to-points with Colin Bowe, but couldn't sell her and then I got her. Pat's brother Brian bred her.

"She is a lovely big mare, won her point to point well and to win a bumper is a bonus."
