He showed on his last two runs with the blinkers on that he was coming back to some kind of form. He is maybe getting a bit too complacent. His Thurles run was promising and then he ran a cracker at Navan. I'm delighted he won here today and he might go back jumping fences now. There is a possibility of going for a good chase with him and it was just a matter of him finding form. He was one of the favourites for the Troytown (in 2011) but the ground didn't really suit him.

We weren't sure about the trip but he got it well in the end,. We thought it was worth trying as he always finishes his races well. It was a good pot today so was well worth trying. He has kept on improving and handles soft ground very well. He wouldn't be as effective on better ground.

He got a hell of a raise for winning in Thurles (a few runs back). I thought what he got was nuts but the handicapper just said to me there now - wasn't I right!. I thought that might have been enough to stop him from winning again. I always say to the young fella (Keith Donoghue) not to hit him as he doesn't like it.

That's my 31st winner of the season and it's my best season to date. The horse has been consistent and deserved to win, he has been 2nd on a couple of occasions. He ran bad at Limerick on heavy ground last time out so we gave him a break and freshened him up for today.
