she is a class filly, is a year older and has really matured, The boss has just told me we will aim her high, at Group 2s and 1s, and she has all the proper entries. She excels on a cut in the ground, albeit she has won at Dundalk. Colin was very happy with her, they didn't take her far enough in the race and she took it up two (furlongs) out but she can look around. In a higher class race, they'll go quicker and take her to the line. We are really going to have fun with her, we're not asking to win the big races but if she is placed in them we'll take that now. She is in the Tattersalls Gold Cup and could go there next. She had been training really well and it was a good performance to give weight to everything.

Ger wanted to run her in this race to go out on a high and fair play to Maurice (Regan, of Newtown Anner Stud) for letting her run. It was a tough ask with a penalty but we have a lot of faith in her. She has been so consistent all year and is very genuine.

I'm delighted for (owner/breeder) Maurice Regan and all the Newtown Anner team. She has been promising that, has been black-type placed before but getting this win was most important, which we knew she would this season as she has strengthened up big time. She is not ground-dependent, has really appreciated stepping up in trip to 1m4f, albeit she ran a cracker over 1m2f last time and we'll have fun in those races. She has improved with age and hopefully will improve again next year. She could eventually run in those Cup races but we'll get her home now and make a plan. Maurice is a great supporter of ours, has a good band of mares as well so this is most important and is a prestigious race to win.

That's a step in the right direction for her. She works very well at home and last year it was a combination of ground and weakness,. We were always hoping that with her work at home a winter under her belt would help her strengthen up. We're delighted now that that has proven right. Colin said she appreciated the surface so going forward we'll look for good or better. She's experienced worse and now that's she stronger that'll stand to her. She got the trip well. We are hunting black-type, whether she gets that or not we'll see but that's a step in the right direction and we're delighted with that.

Colin was as kind as he possibly could be to her as she doesn't do a tap when she hits the front at home. On form she is entitled to do that. She wants soft ground, will get further but on soft ground she doesn't have to get further. We'll take a breather with her now and look at an autumn campaign; the reason being she needs soft ground. She is an exciting filly and she is the only Night Of Thunder horse we have.
