He’s very good when he’s fresh. The ground was too quick for him in Ascot and we let him out and I didn’t think there was any possibility he could be ready for this,. But Emma (Connolly) who rides him out and loves him more than anyone kept saying he’s there. We worked him over a mile on Tuesday and he worked brilliant, so we said we’d have to go ahead and run him. You would imagine the obvious place to go with him now is Down Royal as it’s the big chase and his owner is from Belfast and I’d say would love him to run there. He’s had a few little issues here and there. Last year when he won in the north he cracked a bone behind and that’s why we didn’t see him for the rest of the season. He’s been some servant and is a fabulous horse for us to have.

It has always been a lucky enough meeting for me since its first inception really. It has always been good to us. He's a lovely horse and he's a very genuine horse that has been there or thereabouts. He won the Kerry National and deserved to win a race like that. We learned a few things about him and he's better when he doesn't run too often and when there is a bit of a dig in the ground. He'll be entered in the big race at Christmas and he'll be entered in the King George and all those races because he does stay three miles. He's entered in the race at Newbury which is now the Ladbroke Trophy and was the Hennessy - he will probably end up with too much weight in it. If the likes of Coneygree or something like that was in it then it might be a possibility. I wouldn't be keen to go over there to carry top weight. We'll give him all the time he needs. He's a bit lazy when he gets to the front. He is a good horse - he was just touched off in a Liverpool Hurdle and was going real well in a Grade Two in Newbury a couple of years ago and fell at the second-last.

I thought he'd win anyway even if the other fella had stayed in. He's a fair steed and he jumps fences a lot better than he jumped hurdles. He used to blitz hurdles out of the ground and when he missed one he just missed it. Going over fences he's changed and he does everything right. I suppose it was a non event after yer man fell but we won't complain about that. We'll see what happens tomorrow now with the other guy (Moulin A Vent). We were going to run him tomorrow but then when we decided when the other lad won the beginners that he was alright and we'd run him in the Grade One and let this lad wait. He could possibly go to Naas for that three-mile race or come back here for the Festival. He might come back here as he likes that nicer ground.

it’s about the jumping - he jumped today which is the first time he did. I think he’ll be better over three miles so we have the race at Christmas (at Leopardstown) to look at and I might have a look and see what is in England as well and it also depends what turns up in the Hattons Grace whether he’ll run or not in that. He’s had a lot of trouble with his back and has all sorts of stuff done to it. Last year he had a little op on it and this year it’s been perfect. He also had a stress crack last year after he won here and that’s why he didn’t run for the rest of the season but he’s still a young horse. the girl that looks after him Emma (Connelly) certainly deserves a mention - he’s like a little dog with her. She pulls him out in the morning and he trots up the yard alongside her. She says ‘come on snowy’ and he stops, stands, whatever she wants. It’s unbelievable, I’ve never seen anything like it!

I was a bit worried, to be honest, that he might not be fit enough and he probably did need it a bit. Sean said he gave a nice blow turning in,. Simenon ran a bit of a downer. If he jumped a little bit better it would be a big help. He misses the odd one and tends to leave his hind legs in them. He's a fair horse, just the same, over that trip. I had intended running him on the Flat but when it looked like this race would cut up I decided to have a go. I think that probably his next run will be on the Flat. There is a Flat maiden at Navan over two miles we could have a cut at. We could also look at Listowel but the 1m6f race might be a bit too short.

Our biggest problem was that he was jumping so badly, and he was practically losing a length at all his hurdles. He's had a little back problem which has been causing him not to jump well,.

That'll do the horse and jockey the world of good. He just stays and stays and ground it out. I'd say three miles will be right up his alley. We'll continue over hurdles with him. He's rated highly and will have to run in conditions hurdles. His jumping is still not brilliant and hopefully it will get better as he goes along. He's not a huge scopey horse so we'll stay hurdling and see where he goes. There is the race at Navan but Monksland might run in that and they have the same owner. We'll be looking for something long as two-and-a-half is his minimum. He'll get an entry in the Grade One at Christmas and we'll see what happens. He goes that gallop well but he just doesn't pick up much.

that went according to plan. He was second on his first run and it's very hard to get a horse from the sales ring to that race but the Land Rover usually turns out a good race. He stays well and Nina said he's maybe a bit ground dependent, in that he wants goodish ground and wouldn't want it heavy. He's small enough but is very well bred. We could look at the winners bumper at Down Royal for him.
