3:40pm There's the the usual eccentricity to this event with the 2009 and 2010 winners renewing rivalries. Shin A Vee won in 2009 but was narrowly beaten by COOL WARRIOR the following year and, while Derek O'Connor is a notable booking, Shin A Vee has been absent for 772 days and is now passed over. Preference is for 12 year old COOL WARRIOR, who at least has proven fitness on his side. The other 14 runners have mustered just 10 point to points wins between them and finding a form alternative to either of the two previous winners is difficult. Ten year old Norwich Flyer has three point to point wins to his name though and may play a prominent roll while Enniskillen, who worringly is still a maiden point to pointer, ran ok in the Ladies Cup on Tuesday and has minor claims. The Begrudger is a dual point to point winner a long time ago but hasn't shown anything worth mentioning recently. (TW)

Wexford Wed, 5th Dec, 2012 (1st)
He was 4lb well in (on his future rating) so we had to take our chance,. I thought the main danger was Lascalahall and when he was taken out it looked a weak opportunity. He seems on the up and up and we'll leave him alone now until Christmas. There is a race in Limerick for him over two-and-a-half but Paul says he wants further. He was rated 103 after his Thurles win so that puts him out of the 0-102 bracket.

He had sixteen pounds more than he had the last day, including the claim and I thought the eleven pound penalty was a bit harsh. He is improving and he is going the right way. He will stick to handicaps as he is not good enough for novice races.

Naas Sat, 10th Nov, 2012 (1st)
they got very tired in front but he loved the ground and stayed at it well. I was a bit worried about him getting home so I took my time on him and picked up well after the last.
