last year was a very messy season for Santo Padre . I was never happy with him and we never really got a run with him. This year he has improved off his first run at Dundalk to Cork, and again from Cork to today. Now that he is getting a bit older, maybe an ease in the ground is helping him. He'll probably go for the Greenlands Stakes at The Curragh next month.

We're delighted with the result. He absolutely hated that ground he would prefer it faster . Everything going well he will go for the Portland Handicap at Doncaster over 5f in two weeks time.

He deserved that, he wants better ground and he hasn't got it all year and that's the best ground he's got all season. He may go to Dundalk next Saturday depending on how he comes out of this.

The horse has shown lots of ability at home but has had a lot of problems in the past and everything seemed to come together for him tonight.
