It was a good performance again even though he was getting a few pounds off two of them. Jack (Kennedy, jockey) said the further he went, the better he got. He probably wasn't in love with the track or maybe the ground. . There is a novice chase for him at Killarney next week and you need three runs to qualify for those good staying handicap chase, so that's why we are keen to run him. He could be a horse for the Kerry National.

Davy is great, he's getting on in years now so we are kind of minding him and picking and choosing what we put him on. He's a great jockey and I'm very lucky to be in the position I am to have all the jockeys I have. Russell is 43 or 44 years of age now but he's like good wine, he's getting better as he gets on. He's not going to ride much this year, we'll pick and choose what to put him on, but on the big day there is no-one better.

I actually thought he’d win a bumper before this. I’m delighted for the Hurley family as he’s a homebred and they still have the dam. It was very important to get a bumper for him and he’ll go on over hurdles now. He’s schooled and is ready to go. Derek said he was in right order today and he doesn’t think he’ll have any issues with trip. He is a big horse and chasing will be his game in time hopefully.
