she's a funny mare as every time retirement is mentioned, the owners say 'do you want to have a spin on her and see what's happening?' That has happened the last three times she won and I keep winning on her!. It'll be a 7lb claimer on her the next day again and when she drops down the handicap, I'll be given my chance again.

The tongue-tie worked the oracle, she had been stopping in her races and we'd been trying different things. I said I'd have a tour round on her today and see what I thought. I hunted away to see if I could get her to run well with the tongue-tie. Even turning in I could feel her feeling her wind so I said to myself 'take you time if you want'. There was no major panic and she kept picking up for me so it was great.

That was great. Her form in maiden hurdles was very good and to be fair to the handicapper, he held her at 102 when she was just always knocking at the door. She’s been called a lot of names by lads backing her at short prices, but the visor has changed her. And this is great for Neil O’Mahony (owner) because he’s my main supporter. He’d have four or five in the yard the whole time.

She was probably never going to get beaten to be fair, but she'd want further. She wants 2m6f but this was a grand opportunity. She is lairy and would have been better with a lead. As soon as I pass a fitness test, in ten days time, I'll be turning professional.
