Obviously it wasn't expected if Colin didn't ride him but I'm delighted for Gary. He normally gets more than that off us in a season, it's been slim enough pickings this year,. I'm delighted for him and delighted for Sean. There has been a lot of patience and he was in the sales this week. Gary rode him the last day and we said we'd give him another season. He's one of the old guys and we'll hold on to him. He's been suffering with allergies or something all year although I'm only guessing what it was. He was just off form. We didn't fancy him coming here but knew that he would handle the ground. If he was back to anything like his old self he was capable of doing that. It's a nice way to end the season. To be honest we were trying to be clever saying 'that's next year's Lincoln horse' but I'd say I've messed that one up!

He handles that ground well so it was nice. He's a classy horse when he's on his day. He's probably a seven (furlong) or a mile horse in that ground but probably seven is his best trip. Hopefully he can go on to better things. That was lovely. He's heavy and he has grown into some beast of a horse. He loves the ground, loves Naas and I'd love the Lockinge to to be run in Naas if someone could sort that for us!. I think he deserves to go over here if conditions are right. Knowing our luck it'll dry up between now and then and it'll go against us but anything bar fast ground. He holds the entry there and that's the next obvious target. I hate putting blinkers on them on their first run back but he'll literally do nothing without them. Colin said he just felt brilliant. He got a great lead off Billy and blew up as he got to him. If there was a hole in him they'd have found it out then. That's probably as good a performance as he's put up in his career and he just seems to be getting better and stronger. The team talked me out of gelding him. I don't think there is any reason to keep them colts unless you think they can perform at the top end. He deserves his chance now and we'll see. Of the horses we've seen up to now I think he has every right to go for a Lockinge. We just need a bit of luck that the conditions stay in our favour.

We're thrilled with that and he is a fine big horse who will be a Stakes horse next year, albeit he is already a Stakes horse but we are really looking forward to his four year old career. That's when he is going to come into his own,. We were very worried about whether or not he'd handle the heavy ground and while he handled summer heavy last season, his heart got him through today. He is still a bit of a baby and idled in front and got through the ground by his ability. He'll be better on better ground and will be a proper Stakes horse over a mile next year. We always thought he was one of the best two year olds we've ever had and still think he's one of the best horses we've had. . He has gone on that ground now and the Lockinge Stakes in May could be a target. . He (Ger Lyons) has been talking about gelding him but we might hold off and that decision (regarding a possible stud career) definitely won't be taken lightly.

the first thing to say, is what was I doing running him over six furlongs?! I had no idea if he would get the trip, and we had to find that out tonight - I'm actually for once happy!. When Colin (Keane) got off him after finishing second to Caravaggio here the last day he said this gets further, and I said if he gets further then he's a good horse. We were going nowhere in the other division, and he's so lazy and so heavy we can't get him fit at home. He was going nowhere turning in and Colin said he half panicked on him, and then you see what happened. I actually enjoyed watching that! . We've learned plenty and he is a good horse; he’s not ground dependant as long as I don't run him with firm in the ground description. He's answered a lot of questions tonight, and we have got a Brendan Bracken substitute in the offing from now on. He's a nice horse to have.

We knew we had a nice horse, and I'm delighted with that. He did it the hard way, and he's got a great attitude and a great temperament,”
