The ground made a huge difference. Tennis Cap ran well enough [finished fourth], but probably had too hard a race at Cheltenham. He probably wants soft ground, but this fella loved the nice underfoot conditions. Ruby would have jumped before the race if he could have. Pique Sous will go to Punchestown and we might let him take his chance in the Grade 1 two miler. He's just not able to handle soft ground and we'll try and find a campaign on good ground. I might try and find something during the summer. Maybe he'll mature and get stronger and he might handle soft ground next season, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

I'm delighted with the way he handled the surface . he hadn't been on it before but I didn't want to run him on heavy ground. Whether he comes back here again or goes straight over to Cheltenham I don't know yet but we'll see how he comes out of this. That win has booked his ticket for the Supreme Novices Hurdle but I don't think he'll run over jumps before then . he's a spring horse. When I saw this race come up I thought it would be a good opportunity for him.

We tried a tongue-strap (wore one before on his debut) on him today and changed the plan by making the running. He was too free the last day and he could still improve more as he was too keen early in his jumping. As he settled that got better. We'll go for a winners race now. He is not a real winter heavy ground type of horse. We may have to travel with him (cross-channel) or give him a break.

He has won three bumpers now and not many horses do that. He has loads of gears and he could run on the flat. I'd imagine he will be hurdling before the winter. The plan is to do something similar to Steps To Freedom. He probably won't run during the winter. He is one of the best we had out this summer.

He did exactly what we thought he would do. His class got him through and he is really a good ground horse. He has got loads of speed and he is probably a Supreme Novices' horse. The sky's the limit for him.

He has improved nicely since last year and hopefully he will win another bumper. He needs nice ground. We will have a chat with the owners later to see where he goes next. He is a better ground horse and we will see plenty of him in the spring. He was quite keen so I was surprised by how much he found off the bridle and that's why I think he will improve. Any Leopardstown winner is entitled to an entry in the Champion Bumper and he will go for that now.
